So about 2 months ago I bought a 997.1 Turbo 6speed manual 24,000 KM, Full terracota special interior with sport seats and Porsche crests. It had all the mods I wanted on the car. Full exhaust system with fabspeed headers and cat bypass pipes and a Tubi exhaust Bigger intercoolers and silicon hoses. Sharkwerks stage 2 tune. Bilstein damptronics coilovers. two sets of HRE wheels, one for the track and one for the street. HRE P40 and HRE C103. The car was originaly GT Silver but it came with a smurf blue vinyl wrap and plastidipped black wheels.

Although the blue had its charm. It made the car look like a toy and little kids and random people took pictures with it. I still wanted to see how it looked with the Gt Silver and with the original finish on the HRE P40 Wheels. So I sent it to a proffesional detailer to have the cars vinyl wrap removed, fully detailed, car polished and ceramic coated. The calipers were polished, ceramic coated and cleaned and treated the interior leather with leather cleaner and a special ceramic coating. The wheels plastidip was removed and the wheels were cleaned polished and ceramic coated. I cant believe how good ceramic coating is. Almost nothing sticks to it You can basicaly rinse off the mayority of the grime and dry the car. The GT silver is a beautiful color. I have an Arctic silver 996 that I love but the darker tones of GT Silver make the car look very unique and exotic. I think GT Silver also goes well with the polished P40 wheels.

The car went from this:

To This:

Today I added LED Side markers. I upgraded the HID Bulbs to Osram Xenarc Night breaker Laser bulbs. The increased lighting helps with seeing further and the cooler color of the bulbs in the HIDs really makes it look nice. Ill be adding an aerokit lip and and trying on the C103 Wheels. The car is a rocketship. It pulls beautifully. I had all the fluids changed. I installed new motor mounts. The car feels amazing but Ill be adding a TPC DSC module for a more comprehensive suspension.

These cars are gems! The performance is of supercar level with some mods and they look amazing.

GT silver is great. I think it was a special order color in the 997 series.

(smurf pic not showing - FYI)

Are you sure it's a Turbo S? The Turbo S came standard with ceramic brakes (yellow calipers). Yours has red calipers (steel brakes). Were the brakes changed (not good!) and does the speedo also say "Turbo S"?

Looks like a non-S. But looks good.

Had a chance to buy a GR Turbo S last year but the moon was not aligned and it got passed me.

"factory option red calipers " good choice ! first thing i did to my new car (before brakes got too dirty ) was to have the yellow calipers painted gray.

Highly doubtful, especially on a car with no other custom tailoring options. And nothing noted on options posted above. Porsche has long been very difficult about painting calipers, only doing it in very rare cases for very special customers.

Much more likely they were painted by a previous owner to match the car better in their eyes. I saw several while looking for my 997 TurboS

Hi Rennkit-Dave,

Please understand I'm not knocking your beautiful car and I'm sure you're very happy with it!

I though the calipers might have been painted after I posted. I don't think you could order a TTS without PCCB's but I'm not 100% certain too. At least I've never heard or read about it. Anyway, there aren't very many TT's or TTS's in Northern VA (all the DC swamp rats drive Mercedes, Land Rovers, BMW's and the occasional Bentley) so I don't have a good data set to draw upon. However, it's still a beautiful car and I do like the matching calipers. But, if I saw it in on the road I would think the driver was a poser for that reason. Anyone trying to challenge you will be shocked I'm sure to find out it's a TTS and not a TT!

My 997.1 TT with HRE P101 Wheels, Michelin Cup2 tires. Lowered with H&R springs. Just had the factory lower body painted bits added including the factory Aerokit front spoiler. As of this writing she is being tuned (91 octane, 93 octane and E85) after a big Turbo build, including 993RS motor mounts and Sachs Race Engineering clutch. The project also included a few found issues that were all fixed (Power steering master cylinder leaking, cracked coils, cracked inner front fender liners, driver side front radiator, leaking rear main seal) as well as maintenance items including the coolant tubes/heat exchanger tube fixes along with full fluid maintenance.
