Sorry didn't see the updated post. Congratulations. As Chris says, it's a must, post pics.

Default Here it is...

What an adventure. Short version:
Had to drive across a mountain pass to get the car. Drove Cayman S to trade in. Flash snowstorm on the pass and the CS was useless with fat summer tires on. Slid like crazy going 5 mph on an interstate with chained semis passing by. Got to an offramp and got stuck. Pushed to an underpass. Waited for tow truck. Pass now closed. "Todd" the tow guy thinks we are nuts to be there in a porsche. My hero. Drove the CS onto the truck.
Towed on a flatbed to the bottom of the pass, he has no lights on because the snow is so bad, can't see with headlights.
To dealer this morning (closed after the adventure) to get the car, and drive home. Pass good going today.

Pic of the snow, Todd, and the new car.
Tow truck bill, new buddy Todd a few extra bucks.

Turbo... priceless

I'm pretty sure the newest 997.2 Turbo and Turbo S have the newer DFI engines.

Beautiful Turbo. Congrats! I had a semi-harrowing snow experience while driving my 7T back home from GA after purchase in January. Even with AWD was on summer tires, so not fun. White knuckle time for a while. Luckily I didn't get stuck and the snow didn't last long.

Enjoy the new ride!

Congratulations!
What a trip and story!
These are great cars. I am on my second TT and use them as daily driver with never any issues. 2001TT (2001-2007) and now my 2007TT (2007-present). We get a lot of snow in Chicago but no mountain passes!

The 997.1 tt is the last one with the gt1/g50 engine tranny combo.

good choice, i loved my 991 and that chassis is insane.. but even the S is underpowered for that chassis... the 997TT feels great... very lively car and lots of great sounds.
