opinion on this 997tt?
hello,
with this fairly clear direction that the 991 is taking to abandon the MT i'm reconsidering getting a late model MT. I am looking at a 2012 tt and had a few questions:
1- are there any options missing that you would consider a deal-breaker?
2- what's the opinion on the later tt versus earlier 997tt?
3- will the cabrio be useless for me? i drive a daily country highway commute at between 60 and 90mph, is it realistic to do this top down?

Great looking car!
Not an expert on the 2010-newer Turbos but that car appears to not have Sports Chrono. I think you want that on a Turbo for the extra torque boost & its important for resale as well.

Super nice build. Kinda cool to have a 25th anniversary model too. You and I are in roughly the same climate and I LOVE the cab. I use it whenever I can and driving 60 mph with the top down? Fantastic.
Also for the differences between the ealrier .1 and later .2's? Mainly the engine in the .1 being the GT1 derived Mezger. Suspension is slightly different as with different tail lights, side mirrors and PCM. But I think you'd be hard pressed to discern any actual differences in the driving experience between the two cars. Because of the engine many of us are fans of the earlier .1’s.
Go for it. It's a great car. Nice colour combination too.

No sports seats is a deal killer for me. And I agree, the price is high.
From a pure comfort and handling perspective, especially for a commuter, I think the 991 CAB is excellent.

I second the opinion with regards to the Sport seats.. Spend the time to drive a few cars with and without them. Awesome touring seats.. I put 2000 miles in them in a couple days.. Well worth the monies!
