Thanks. We'll see how hard this is to install.....from what I've read should not be too bad

For those interested they are still on sale

Where, how much and do you really feel a noticeable difference? Dang my Red car is costing me a fortune so don't want to buy something that won't make much difference

My old car had one, new one doesn't....barely noticable. Unlike the 996, where there was a huge difference. In a 997 the shifter is already 15% shorter throw than a std 996 shifter, this is maybe another 10%. I'd save my pennies.

Disagree would not say it's barely noticable. Its not a huge difference but it's a nice mod that makes the driving experience more pleasurable.

I feel that the 997SSK is too notchy for my taste. I like the 997GT3. It is silky smooth and has billet aluminum guts vs plastic. In short it is built better, shifts smoother and has a shorter throw vs stock. It has about a 5/8" longer throw vs the 997SSK.

I love my OEM SSK. I agree with Tom. Noticeable from stock and mine is not "notchy" at all.

Phillip, you don't feel a "hitch" every time you come across the "H"

Kevin,
No I don't.. My box is super smooth. If there is a little "hitch" maybe I just don't notice it because I have driven the car for so long. My previous 997 Carrera had the standard shifter and I liked that one as well.

It comes down to personal feeling and touch>>subjective. I'm pulling out my 997SSK to put in the 997GT3 shifter when I have a moment.

Look at post 11 and 13 in this thread..

I just purchased one also from Suncoast. They just raised the price a bit. Do you have any good DIY install for a 997.2?

Thanks
