Default Intercooler install help in NJ

Does anyone know who can install 997.2 intercoolers in my 997.1? I see it takes some modification. Who has done this job before?
thanks all.

I recall seeing a bit of info out there including pics on the duct trimming requirements but nothing about any other issues being mentioned. That said I've personally spoken with one of the head techs at a Porsche dealership that encountered what they considered an issue with the sizing of the new .2tt I/C outlets being @ 2mm larger in diameter than the .1tt coolers. This resulted in the female ends being too wobbly along with the existing retaining clips not matching the size of the outlets. To get around this problem required felt packing tape (they used the same felt tape they use for squeaks) being wound around the female ends along with the use of different sized retaining clips. This was required to get the female ends to achieve a (correct) snug fit in the I/C outlets and, the new locking clips matched the new outlet size so there wasn't the possibility of them unlocking which they felt was possible given the slack. I'm actually doing this install next Monday on my own car too, so i can give a first hand account of the pitfalls. Im awaiting the arrival of the .2 I/C's from suncoast which I expect to have by this Friday.

Paul did you buy the 997.2 coolers or the GT2 RS coolers? Or are they the same?

I highly recommend giving bodymotion a call. They are the best Porsche guys I know of in NJ.

I had them installed...but its running like ****e now. I think i have a leak because its slow and only gets to .8 bar. Sounds like it has a miss too. Had plugs done 1 step colder. It has to go back to the shop.

Maybe just go back to the stock plugs...

I've read of issues when changing the heat ranges, unless car has major mods and big HP.

OK so it turns out there was some loose wire connection...that brought the boost back! Then I also needed 1 new coil. This thing with the intercoolers and the new tune feels very very quick. Im lovin it even more then I use to!

when in doubt try R.O.C.S. in Belleville. I'm always amazed at the spectrum of Porsches over there. Old stuff, new stuff, track stuff, collector car stuff. Bentley and Rolls as well. Plenty of aftermarket work going on there too (Stasis, Remus).

I'd also give protosport in pompton plains a call. They do some excellent turbo work.
