Default Stupid question on battery tender

I bought a CTEK battery tender and had a quick question. I plan on connecting it to the battery (not through the cig lighter) but if I did that over a few days, wouldn't the light in the trunk start to drain the battery also? What's the proper way to hook up the battery tender (through the front)? Thanks

Edwin

You can close the trunk with the wires passing on the hood on the wiper area as long as you don't replace the plastic cover over the battery compartment area.

Read the owner's manual - aux lights like trunk, engine, interior go off after a couple of hours. Go off in 20 minutes if you lock the car with the remote.

If the ignition key is removed, loads which are
switched on or are in standby mode (such as the
luggage compartment light, interior light and
radio) are automatically switched off after approx.
2 hours.

None whatsoever, that is how you are to do it according to the manual. It's a trickle charger with very little current output to the battery. I have been using a trickle charger for many years on my Porsche vehicles, never had any problem thru the cigarette lighter.
