Default 997 turbo 2007 on the horizon

Long time since I posted in this section. If everything goes well I'll be the proud owner of a '07 997 turbo with 19200km (12000mls) soon.
Am buying it from the second owner in Italy and it comes with a one year 'Porsche approved' warranty. It just had a major service so it is ready to be enjoyed.

It's Arctic over Cocoa and has the comfort seats. I used to own a black 997 Turbo back in 2007 and ordered it with the 'almighty' adaptive sport seats but never enjoyed those, found them too narrow around the shoulder area and they gave me back pain on longer trips. So I am happy I found a 'comfort seat' turbo. Not easy to find in Europe as most have the sport seats or adaptive's. It has the sunroof which I dislike but finding one without is virtually impossible. No heated seats or parking sensors but that doesn't matter to me. Wont be using it during the cold season anyway.

Waiting for the COC document and than flying over to Italy (Venice area) and drive the car home (1200km's/750mls). Can't wait.

Downside : I'll have to sell my beloved Vesuvio 993S. Thought about it long and hard and really want a 997 turbo so it has to be done. 2 weekend toys is my max.

Congrats, interesting comment on the sport seats, I am turning down nice cars that dont have them but this made me kind of question that.

Excellent, enjoy the ride home...
Tell me did you switch from the 2007 TT to the 993 and back? Or did you have both and the TT was sold for the Lotus?.. You said only two weekend toys...

Up until 2008 I used to collect Porsche's. I had a few 964's, a 996 GT3RS and of course the 993 Vesuvio. In the same period I bought a new 997 Turbo as a company car. Used it intensively for 2 years and sold it local. After my son was born the 'collection' bug died and I started selling all and kept my favorite, the 993. The Lotus is a different story, I used to live both in Florida and Belgium for a few years and wanted to have a 'fun car' in the US as well, was able to buy the last of the line. When we moved to Belgium in 2010 I brought it with me.

Nice story... I am sorry you seem to be giving up on all your air cooled toys.. I hope one day you will get one back. However, the forced induction bug is also quite sweet, so I can see why its calling so loud.
I only wish I can have a 993TT as well as my "second" weekend toy...

Update:

As stated in my opening post I dislike a sunroof and suspected finding a turbo without it to be almost impossible. Well, last Friday a '08 black (non metallic)/ terracota came online with 18.000 km (11200 mls) without sunroof.
As a bonus it also has option 220 which I happen to like. Car is very lightly optioned and that is just the way I like it. I wanted it badly
Murphy's law at work

So since I got nothing to lose anyway and could not yet register my car I decided to list it. I did this late Monday evening and on Tuesday a guy came over to have a look and he bought it on the spot. Requested and received deposit of 10k.

Hopefully the black one will be as pristine as the car I just sold. I am kinda freaked at the moment.

I'm confused which is normal for me. Did you sell the 07 Arctic you started this post about and buy the 08 Black TT? That vwas FAST! Is the market that strong for 997.1's in your area?

You're not confused, you got it totally correct. I bought the car in Italy on April 27 and sold it local yesterday with a healthy profit to boot

A turbo with low miles for a good price moves fast ! I believe in any market.
This one was truly like new and hope the black one, which I have not yet seen, will be equally 'like new'.
Car is over a 1000km's away so will have to wait and see for that. But have good hopes from seeing the pictures and the sellers comments.

Glad it worked out, the blk car is so clean. Makes me feel bad how dirty mine is right now.
