Default 2011 White Turbo S - Diamond Fusion Windshield Protection Film

What is windshield protection film? It is a hardcoated 4 mils thick film. Very different from paint protection film. Application of this product is more similar to window tint than clear bra app. Details to this product:

1. from our experience and opinion, it is more durable than Clearplex
2. comes with a 2 year 20,000 mile warranty from bubbling, fading, peeling, purpling, and cracking - naturally does not cover from wear and tear
3. scratch resistant hard coat that works very well with wipers
4. manufacturer - Prestige Film Technologies
5. product name - Diamond Fusion Windshield Protection Film
6. cure period - it will take 2-3 weeks for all water to dissipate

Thats very cool!!! I have been wondering if there was something like this. I have seen a few tiny rock chips in my Cayenne windsheild lately.

Great idea. Man, I need that. I fear it is cost prohibitive.

Doesn't that offer some great heat-rejection benefits in the sunlight?

Diamond Fusion windshield protection film was recently brought into USA just 2 months ago and there is currently no dealer / installer in your area, so what you saw is likely a product called Clearplex. Clearplex is a product that did not stand the test of time from our initial test back in 2007. Diamond Fusion by Presitge is much more stable and does have a significantly harder scratch resistant coating than Clearplex.

This is why:

As this 20/20 video below shows (2008), improper installation of aftermarket windshields can seriously affect safety items on the vehicle such as structural roof integrity, proper airbag deployment, debris and items flying into vehicle if windshield pops out, etc.

So, the product's target market is people w/ improperly installed aftermarket windshields?

In the NY metro area I use the tearoffguys.com , James@racetearoff.com. He has many choices on protective films.

As I understand it, the target market is everyone that wants to try and avoid ever having to get a new windshield, by protecting the original windshield as much as possible.

windshield tear- offs or coatings offer some protection but the claim of not having to ever buy a new one is absurd. They may offer a 10% to 20% extra strength depending on the thickness but not more than that. A 2 layer tear- off runs around $150. The advantage is when they get sand blasted they are easily remove or replaced.

If this is in reference to the windshield protection film, we did not make any claims of never having to replace your windshield with this product installed. Tear offs are thinner and scratch very easily. Diamond Fusion windshield protection film has a much more durable hardcoat on the film than any other product we've seen on the market.
