What factory 911 emblem option?

Just find the midpoint and measure up from the edge of the deck lid. Blue painters tape and a level will help too.

Do you know where the specs are in the shop manual?

I vote for "painted to match"

Instead of having the TURBO S logo there is an option for just a plain Jane 911 emblem!

In the order guide? Not that I've seen but you can order one from Eric at BumperPlugs.

I got a satin version from Bumperplugs....I prefer it. They have painted to match and the basic 911 there too. Great service too. I eyeballed mine. No issues.

To me, a "911" emblem is redundant. Even non-Porschephiles and commonfolk know a 911 when they see one. I say keep the factory badge-"Turbo S" or de-badge it.

how can the factory miss putting on the emblem unless the customer wanted it that way?? i recently saw a show on national geographics on the porsche factory...their qc seemed pretty good. the factory uses a template to fit the emblem at the same location on every car. unless the dealership has the same template i would say do wthout it. nice car btw.

It was an error on the dealership's part when they placed my order in the computer. I saw the documentary too - they would not have missed it at the factory. I wish I had the template they were using to line up the logo.

The dealer's body shop should have the template. Ask them how they do repairs without it.

Just for fun, how about putting on a "Carrera S" logo to confuse car drivers as you speed away!

You have the rare "Factory Employee Delete" option

Here's what I'd do: Have a rennlister measure theirs top/side measurements form the edges ... and let er rip.
