Default Turbo S coming this summer !!

Got told by my dealer today that the S will be coming from May this summer.

He rang me as he knew i'd be pissed of, as i'm about to take the delivery of a new TT Cab next month.

Said i can go top of list for the S, but not sure what to do....

Hearing 530BHP and 'GT2' internals for the engine.....make of that what you will ....

This is what I was told for the development of the dfi GT2 - new rods needed for the extra power...

Go ahead as planned, IMO. "Summer" means what? Delivery on August 30th? Once you get your Cab you'll feel less conflicted. Plus: If I decided on a Cab wouldn't trade the ragtop for a few more HP and a coupe and more expense and wait. Still, that's a tough one.

Will the "S" only come in coupe form? Also, did he give you an indication of price differential and what it will additionally include as standard, beyond the TT (i.e. PCCB, etc)?

I stopped by my dealer this morning to inspect the now arriving 2010 turbos and again inquired about additional information on the "S." The data received were the same as those supplied in late November...expected standard equipment is PDK, Chrono, torque vectoring, etc. The order guide is not yet available (should be in February); production is scheduled in May with delivery in June. The base price is approximately $159k. The "S" will be a 2011 model. Details remain shrouded in secrecy.

Since the dealer has held my "S" deposit for several years, I shall probably spec the "S" yet I am not personally convinced it will be superior to my 2008 turbo (exhaust, headers, GIAC, etc.). Ideally, if by then, private enterprise still exists and if equities markets do not tank, the present plan is to keep the 2008 as a companion to the "S" for comparative purposes and within 6 months or so decide which is preferred.

Oh, and don't forget, 6 months after you take delivery of 'this next great thing' from Porsche, they will introduce something even better to come very soon.....

Get what you want. But get it soon and enjoy it!

So is the new GT2 going to be DFi at the end Tobby? If its only
stronger rods needed for the new engine to get to some serious hp
its not too bad actually..

One thing it definitely means is more money and less choice. I much prefer to go a la carte and not be forced to buy packages of stuff I might not want.

Yea, when they release the S, you can be sure that a new model is coming out.
