Porsche are apparently having to upgrade several internal components (rods etc) for the Turbo S (520-530PS). So effectively there will be different engines between the 997.2 Turbo and S. That does not bode well for tuners looking to do a quick upgrade with add-on components and an ecu flash!
With regards to out-developing the Porsche engineers with mods on the 997.1 Turbo, you can directly see how you have done by comparing to the stock 997.2 car. The new Turbo is VERY similar to my car in terms of handling and thrust, so much so that if I didn't know better I would say Porsche had been reading my posts and feedback essays and taking notes! They nearly got it perfect, just shy on the 'creamiest' ride Bilstein dampeners (top of the range = not enough profit), turbo lag (but they have to use high back pressure 600 cell cats for EU emmisions targets), sound (I still don't know why they can't make a sports exhaust for the turbo, the GT2 one sound great), and power (800Nm makes a big difference). Still good work though by Porsche; I give them a solid A-

997.2 TTS will use the SAME engine as 997.2 TT because its too expensive to modify
997.2 TT will cope woth 580 hps (Stage 2 tuning) for sure. Above that figure - the internals should be beefed up...

Before the CG powerkit: 0.9/1.1 briefly then levelled at 0.8/1.0 bar.
After the CG powerkit: 1.0/1.2 bar every time

OK, I admit it, the 991 Turbo S handles 'slightly' better than my now 6 year old 997.1 Turbo with aftermarket suspension - due to all the new electronic wizardry. Not much in it though, and mine does still feel 'sharper' after being set up to amazing accuracy by my suspension tuner. A 991 Turbo S after my suspension tuner has had his hands on it would probably make me very depressed though.
The 911 does cost an extra 50% compared to what I paid for mine new though and I didn't have to wait for 6 year to get that level of fun from it...
