Default Price for 2009TT?

2009 New car has the following options; 541, 870,640, CUL, 342, 220, 619. Got quoted $125 off $147 list. Any opinions on what's a fair price at this point? (12.31.2009)

Thanks guys.

Nick

www.autotrader.com lists just 2 2009 Turbo Cabs available in 100 mile radius of my location (Livermore CA area).

One new Cab and one used Cab with 1257 miles.

New one is listed at $140580. The used one listed at $123995.

Based on this "sampling" of just 2 cars $125K for a "new" 09 seems a rather good price if one ignores these are "asking" prices and are undoubtly inflated some. The tough question by how much "some"?

Tough to say. Do a search of new/used 09 Cabs in your area.

In fact, do a search of new/used Turbo 2008/2009/2010 Cabs in your area. Go out as far as you want. 100 miles. 500 miles.

You want as many samples for sale as you can find. You want to use this info to show the seller that you have lots of choices, new or used (even if you are not interested in a used one) and use this to seek a better price on the car you are interested in.

Sincerely,

Macster.

$125 off $147? Please clarify. Is that a $125K quote with an MSRP of $147K?

The current best 09 that I have heard of for comparison/negotiations is the one at Hendrick Porsche in Charlotte NC. It's a meteor gray coupe with an MSRP of $142 for $115.

Anybody else know of any others?

I got my once in a lifetime deal on my new '09 in September when Porsche had rebate money for dealers, and a very willing dealer put it all (and most of his profit) into my deal.

The dealer with this car has to pay floor plan, and wants that burden off his nuts. Offer 30k off list to start, and see where it goes. If they are desperate enough, and want to unload the burden, and the car is what you want, I bet you will get it for less than 125. Just my two cents....

Totally agree Eric! I also did better than that in Sept. I can't imagine, on Jan 1, 2010, as the new TTs are swimming to the states, that Nick can't do better too!

Default Thanks!

Thanks guys....dealership is closed today, so I sent an email.

Of course, the 2007 Cab4S (see Avatar) is in play for this deal also, but I pretty much know the value of that since it only has 5300 miles. I really don't have the inclination to sell that privately, as I've got two other cars that have to go as well....unless any of you are seriously interested.

I'm thinking the $115-$117K offer is a good jumping off point, plus I'll need an extra set of wheels and tires for the M&S in NY. Yes, I've decided that if I go for this car, it'll be my daily driver. What the hell, I ain't getting any youunger, that's for sure.

I'll keep you posted.

Nick

BTW TT Surgeon, we're both local so I might need to talk to you about your Farnbacher Loles upgrades.

nick-i agree with the reasoning that you and eric have-you are correct on where to start. as tough as you will be (and justifiably so) on negotiating on the turbo cab, they will also be on your used c4scab, as that car is experiencing similar market forces that the turbo cab is experiencing-that brings me to the question-what do you want them to pay you for your car-in other words, your car and how much for the turbo?-as this is where the deal will make or break.

I thought my C4S was great, until I drove the TT. It is an incredible DD, no matter what the weather! While they don't look as good, I am using the stock wheels for the snows and the good shoes will come out again in the spring.

I heard that Farnbacher Loles went out of business? Stealing from the church to support his P business or something like that

Yes, that was the allegation with Greg Loles, the shop and crew have reopened in Danbury with Spencer *** running the affair.
