Wow, I drive mine daily and I think I put 600 miles on it last week!

Thank you all for posting. Very informative for the wanna be do it yourselfer. Just changed the oil & filter in my 997.1 today with a Mity-vac evac. Was only able to suck out about 6.5 qts through the filler neck and filter housing. I know the best way to do the job is to drain through the bolts - but due to circumstances, this was best I could do. Does anyone have a schematic of the plumbing to the oil pans from the top?

The other 2 quarts are sittiing in the crankcase which can be drained without lifting the car. I'm "big and tall" and I can get under there for that

9X7, the Mity vac will not reach the oil that is in the engine case. The oil that you sucked out is from the rear reservoir tank. The engine actually has a check valve between the tank and engine case. It's recommended to undo the main engine case plug located on the drivers side. It it horizontal with the bumper.
