I haven't heard of such a hack on the 997TT. I recall there were some guys drilling holes in their 996TT exhausts with mixed results, as one might expect.

I believe the 996 guys were drilling holes as Doug described via the exit port, some liked the sound, most didn't from what I recall.

There is no such thing as PSE for the 997 Turbo

My question was whether anyone has attempted the 2" bypass pipe modification (called the "PSE hack")that is described in great detail numerous places on the 997 forum. I don't know how the Turbo mufflers differ (if they do) from the standard 997 mufflers, but the relatively dramatic improvement in sound that is described(and the low cost--$60-$200) have raised my interest level. It could well be that the mufflers on the Turbo are significantly different and the modification wouldn't work, but I imagine someone has looked at it.

PSE hack is for Carrera's with the Sports exhaust whereby you disconnect the vacuum that opens and closes the bypass valve making the exhaust 'always loud' and not go in and out depending on the speed.

As the Turbo has no PSE to do this with I assume you are talking about something other than the 'PSE hack'...
