Squealing belt in the rain
We've had a lot of rain recently and I noticed that the belt squeals loudly at start up, after sitting in the rain. It even slipped a little as I could feel the power steering fade in and out for a second.
Normal? Or does the belt need adjusting?

It's something with the decklid, I rode in a friends 08 car with an aerokit in the pouring rain, not a peep.
Somehow, it's letting water in and onto the belt during very heavy rains only.

I get it only when I wash it and then first start it up. Maybe it depends on how aggressivly you rinse the car with direct aim at the deck lid and the underside. I dont drive it in the rain so cant report on that.

After a wash with aggressive rinse sometimes, but even in heavy rain, never. Maybe I am not driving fast enough, or too fast.

Never experienced any noise wet or dry.

This I believe would not be recommended on any belt drive system, vehicle or otherwise as this would only make it easier for more slippage albiet without the squeal....FWIW I also have had it breifly after a wash (yesterday as a matter of fact) but that's it.

Unless of course your belt is lose, in such case it needs replacing.
