Default Current Discounts on Factory Order

Hello:

Was wondering what discount to expect on a 2009 factory order 997tt?

I am under the assumption that there is about a 20K spread between dealer invoice and MSRP. How unreasonable is a 10k split?

Also what is the purpose of the traction lock option? I will never track the car.

Thanks

There is not a 20k spread on invoice. If you're taking a car from inventory you can expect in the area of 10% off sticker. If you're going to build one you may be looking at a bit less than that. What exactly are you looking for?

I am interested in a 2008tt as follows:

Atlas Gray
Terracotta Leather
Supple leather

Sport Chrono Package
Thicker Steering Wheel in Smooth Leather
Crests Embossed in Headrests
Logo on Armrest of Storage Lid
Fire Extinguisher(Hopefully only for the Coolness Factor)
Floor Mats in Interior Color

Obviously not heavily optioned.

I don't care for the standard turbo wheels. Could I do a special factory request for GT3 wheels instead?
I like the Carrera Sport Wheels, but they area bit wider.

As far as pricing goes, Edmunds shows $110,313 for dealer invoice for the 2008 model and MSRP If i remember was about $129,000 with destination charges. That = $18,687 plus the options I have listed above gets me to the about $20,000 number referred to above. Can you please indicate where I am wrong?
Also, I am not taking into account holdback which easily will increase the gross profit on the sale by a few thousand.

Also, any insight as to why so much extra for Atlas Gray? I suspect the cost of that particular application during the production process and the materials are no more than other metallic colors. Also, if my memory serves me correctly, there have been some metallic colors (Lapis Blue) of past that have been moved around on the color roster to/from the 'special" paint classification.

I'll assume you mean 2009 not 2008

Here is the car you’re looking to build:
MY 2009 Turbo coupe 130,000
E7 Atlas gray 2430 ( not a stock color but one they offer)
MB Terracotta leather 430
982 Supple leather option 395
XSC Crest in head rest 285
810 Floor mats 140
640 sports chrono for turbo 1920
509 Fire Extin 140
XPA Thicker smooth leather steering w 225
CUV storage bin with model logo 295
Total is $136,250
Porsche charges 975 for a transportation fee
Total $137,235

I don’t know where Edmunds gets their invoicing from. Edmunds does not show any invoice price on a 2009 turbo. On a 2008 turbo they show about an 12.5% mark up from invoice to MSRP which is about right. They show an invoice of 110,313 and a msrp of 126,200. Straight up that’s not a 20k spread. I spec’d out the car above according to what you wanted and if you want to build it let me know and I’ll show you invoice and we can go from there.

you seem to be all over the place-talking about buying a factory order, then giving prices on 2008 cars and asking for a special facory request to change the wheels of the 2008 car-then talking about a $20,000 spread. why not get your stuff together, find out what the real story is and then come back to the board with a realistic question that reflects an accurate situation.

Wow not a warm reception for a first time poster.

Not a very warm bedside manner for a guy(gal) with a prefix doc.

Feckless sounds more appropriate........

right you are, i am a doc (MD) and i did see that you are a new poster-welcome to you, but if your posts in the future as disorganized as your present post is, you will get a similar response from other members. the only person who is talking to you on this post is a salesman. why don't you read your post, organize it so that it makes sense, and we would all be happy to help you.

Wait, did you say Atlas on Terra?

Good. Grief.

I all honesty- with that color combo; I'd say a mandatory $5,000 non refundable once that bad boy goes into production.

You've got bigger fish to fry savantauto-

Where are you going to get the car? Being that A) Turbo's are order only and B) some dealers are OUT of their 09 allocation.

If your local dealer or certain other dealers are not hitting their target- they ain't getting squat, and you're waisting your time while the clock is ticking on the MY09 production cycle.

Just say'n.

I'm assuming you're looking to place your order now, correct?

Doc- it's all about a learning cycle. He just needs to find out is all.

Edmunds and friends will soon be rendered useless as supply/demand get into check and dealerships go *poof*.

cloak and dagger tactics will be deployed by the auto companies. watch and see.

You wont find a used 08 in that particular build and you wont even find a brand new 09 in inventory around the country exactly like that. There are no Altas / terracatta coupes in the country now.

I am sure any of us here who sell these cars would be happy to work with him and order the car for him

My dealer would want a 10k deposit on a combo like that, in fact they have a frog green turbo now that the customer bailed on. Looks great on a RS, but horrible on a TT.

I could handle that color on that car! Are they looking to deal on it or are they going to sit on it?
