#1 The car is ugly, hideously ugly IMHO. Carrera or Boxster, pick one please
#2 "The engine is better/stronger than the GT3 (M64/GT1 derived block which set the standard'......translation: it's cheaper for us to have one engine for all models, the M64/GT1 is just too expensive
#3 Let's see the PDK work at the Turbo hp/torque levels

If Porsche managed to get the PDK to work for the 956/962 era, I am sure they can figure a way to get it to work for the TT as well.

Not at a level of profit they are willing to accept. Those PDK's cost more than the cars they would be putting them in, plus they didn't have the necessary reliability to not present a financial/warranty liability.

Marketing, not engineering. Remember that.

Now you sound like me itc. You are right on the money. But I'm sure they'll pass the savings of the better/cheaper engine to customers.

RE the RMS: "We have made zee seal stronger and of better quality..."

I did like the mock of the motor running the Nordschleife.

A side note about the video.

The interviewer who is supposidly an expert continued to say "Porch" and not Porsche.

Its a two syllable word and it irks we when a sales person mispronounces it. I will correct most people (related to porsche) in person if they do.

You do of course realize that the 9x6 RMS fix was actually derived from "The Pig", aka, Cayenne RMS?

Another side note on the video. Yes, he did not pronounce Porsche correctly. He is not, however, a sales person. His name is Chris Harris (formerly of Autocar and GT Porsche mags) and is as much a Porsche fanatic as any of us. Some of his cars; 88 Carrera Club Sport, 997S, 996GT2, 993, 993GT2(DROOL!), 993RS(DROOL AGAIN!), Cayman, 996 Turbo and a stunning S/T replica to name but a few. If anything, I would call into question his ability to do an unbiased comparison test involving a Porsche.

I would caution anyone considering purchasing a PDK car to be sure you will want the PDK long term. I drove an F430 for a day and enjoyed the FI style shifting thinking the PDK would be great on a Porsche. Last fall my son purchased the new GTI with the PDk style transmission because it was faster than the manual. After a month, he was bored with the car and longed for a standard again. Now after 9 months he says he would never buy a paddle shift car again and may sell the car after this summer. He wants to be able to drive (shift) the car again. After speaking to him about this, I don't think I would purchase a PDK Porsche.

A lot of Porsche fanatics in the UK pronounce it Porsh (me included) I think it is something to do with Brits generally being crap at speaking (or moreover wanting to learn) foreign languages (a hangover of imperial snobbery ?) for example the BBC will pronounce Paris Pariss and not Paree etc, we feel self consious attempting foreign accents ....
