Default Anyone try the IPD air intake plenum?

I just saw an ad in Excellence about an air intake plenum that Road Sport Supply claims to add 35 horsepower to the 997 tt.
Has anyone tried this or is just the usual bs?

I had one installed on my modded TT. Did not feel a lot of difference in pull but the car's boost became less explosive and more smooth. I do have bigger turbo compressors though.
There is a huge thread on this topic on rennteam.com.
overall most people who had it installed were happy with it.

There have been a few recent threads on the 6 speed and rennlist forums about the IPD plenum. This issue has been absolutely beaten to death, to the point that the threads have become boring and aggravating.

Some screwball naysayer, who is enamored with his own opinions, has relentlessly denigrated the product and its testing results on the 6 speed forums, to the point of nausea. No amount of dyno testing or user reporting is better than his opinions, without his actually having used the product. Thankfully, we have not had one of those nuts here, at least on the subject of plenums.

Please read all the plenum threads(hundreds of posts) on both forums before starting another thread about this issue.

"Nuts" are also here
Consider this:
If a new plenum equipped 997tt engine is subjected to a Porsche factory engine dyno full power test there would be zero gain - other dynos may vary

I was kinda caught up in the hype as well but to be honest it looks kinda like one of those gimmicky things to make you lose 1000 bones. Sorry but thats just my opinion.

If you start modding the exhaust, you might as well do the plenum. Cheap yet unproven but can't hurt. ECU mods are great but void the warranty...
