Default Leather Visors

New owner of a '08 TT after upgrading from E46 M3. Curious if anyone has pics of the leather visors. I can't stand the lawyer warning labels on the stock visors and would love something without them. Thanks in advance.

There is no lawyer warning label delete option, even with leather visors.

You can either remove them yourself (whcih I did) or you can order a European version to replace yours from www.carnewal.com

One of the boards has a detailed explanation with pictures. Can't remember which one. Even though the DIY is for vinyl visors it can be done with leather. It involves removing the visors (done with a hard pull to remove from the shaft), using liberal amounts of 90% isopropyl alcohol to loosen the adhesive on the labels, gently peeling them off, using 3M adhesive remover to remove any residual adhesive then a goodly amount of leather cleaner and conditioner. My visors are black and I can't see any outlines. I used the same procedure on black vinyl visors and always had a very faint outline - so faint that I had to use my glasses and a flashlight to see it. Not so on the leather. I think the DIY might have been on 6speed - try a search there and see what turns up.

I think Suncoast Porsche sell the European visors without the labels.

JFYI guys - The leather visors that I got in my 2008 Turbo Cab have different warning labels then were on the leather visors on my 2005 997 S cab. On the 2005 they were more of a peal & stick type but on the 2008 they appear to be heated or some other method of adhesive. I'm talking about the stickers that are on the plastic mirror flap. On the 2005 I easily removed them & used adhesive remover to make it look like they were never there but I wouldnt try it on these, they look much harder to get off.

Ditto for me! I just took one off yesterday on my 08 TT and they are DEFINITELY put on differently from my 07 C4S. I just put it back on. Maybe there will be a more agressive rennlister to try it first.

That process worked on my 05 997 S cab visors but the stickers on the mirror flap on my 08 Turbo Cab wont come off the same imo. They are definitely put on w/ a different process/different type label nowadays. The sticker on the other side of the visor is the same though. IMO it would be better just to buy a new mirror flap if you can get them w/ out stickers. I wouldnt attempt to remove the ones on the flap any longer. At least I'm not going to be the guinea pig to do it.

Pretty expensive to replace - www.carnewal.com has no-label visors for 350 euro for a pair of vinyl and 750 euro for a pair of leather.

The sticker on the mirror lid is the only one that will be difficult to remove on newer vehicles. The other sticker on the other side of the visor is easy to remove. You can buy new mirror lids for $69
