Burning rubber in the RT12

Ruf have had from my recollection 4 or 5 high speed blowouts with Pirelli tyres...i wouldnt recommend them to anyone.
Michelin are really good, and i think they can be trusted (they do make the tyres for the veyron after all)
But for me, where one of my greatest fears is a tyre blowout at highspeed- ill stick to the Contis (we do live 10mins from an autobahn too which helps )
Best,

Adam,
That is very interesting to me.
What happens to the car when you have high speed blowouts?
I did 300kph for like 40kms with a rear tire slowly loosing air.
It drove a bit strange first and then got worse.
Luckily it did not blowout.
So the Contis are the best for sustained hi-speed? (the 360kph rated ones?)
What is the recommended tire pressure? 3.0 bar?
Thx,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Just this morning we hit a GPS verified 330kmh with the r turbo. And were travelling above 300kmh for a very very long time.
We run Continental Sport Contact 2s (not the VMax tyres) though when we have to replace them i think we will use the vmax tyres.
I was told by H.P at ruf, that the best pressures are 2.5 at the front and 2.8 at the rear
