So here is my dream - keep the CGT, SELL the 997TT in the next few months, wait for Houston Ferrari to understand I will be a long term client - get a 430 and than WISH for the 599. If you have any tips please let me know.

You should have no probs selling the TT in Houston. All of the allocations are spoken for and Momentum has a 2 yr waiting list. They bought 3 cars out of market and are selling them for $5-10k over sticker. If you want a sweet ticket to a 430, at FOH my friend's 04 360 6spd is on sale. Red/tan with about 5k miles. No car was ever better cared for than this one. My friend consigned it thru FOH to get a spot for a new 430 slot 6 months down the road. My other friend in Austin bought that car from FOH, drove it for 2-3 months and now again is consigning it thru FOH to get another 430 spot. Mind you, they are not getting their builds at sticker but at less than $10k over sticker.

I have seen the 3 at momentum - they say they have a 2-3 year list. I think they are full of it - WHY would 3 cars just sit on the lot? I stopped by FOH saw the grey car on the floor - I would take it if it was 6 speed. I really want grey or a blue color. $10,000 over sticker would be ok. I just do not want to pay $20-$50 like many of the cars are going for. My real goal is to become a long term buyer and get in and out of Ferrari - they seem to hold the values.

Yea, good luck with getting anything at list at FOH. Even good customers don't get that. The 2 year wait at Momentum isn't true either, I think people are jumping off the list all the time. Keep us updated.

vramani, golfguy, allegretto:

have you guys considered/driven the murci LP640? had the opportunity to test drive one, power is pretty impressive. if you like the Lambo styling, it's worth a look.

Why do I see Tony Montana when you say that?

They are building a Lambo dealer near my office and the owner called me and told me he had a blue Murcie Spyder that I should look at. I know some of you will think me hypocritical since a ride around in a red 430, but the Lambo was far too...LOUD (visually) for me. Plus, I wasn't sure what the heck the designer was trying to portray except for manifest Rubenesque sexuality. Not my cup, as they say.

YMMV

V-man, I admire your attitude! Hope business continues to pay off with shiny european rockets...

from what I've dealt with (as a future ferrari owner, from current ferrari owners) is that the dealers 'asking' price is usually not what they get- I'd say even in newport beach you can make deals- and they're asking around 260k for a coupe, but they probably don't sell for that- the same ones are still sitting there from august. I'm sure being a local customer at the local dealership would be great but there has to be a 430 manual out there with your name on it somewhere else if it isn't in houston.

personally I am going to go for the 'briefcase full of cash' approach when the time is right, probably on a 430 challenge stradale in 2008.

one of those garages decorated with some of the posters and the print would be pretty slick!
sounds like you need to take a vacation or hire a good no.2 guy!

"a 430 challenge stradale in 2008"

If they build it, it will be very much in demand - you're wise to position yourself now. All of the pics in the link appear to be of the challenge car, not the stradale.
