Default PCCB poll

Curious how many have PCCB vs. those who passed on them.

Too pricey for what you get IMO.

I used some of the savings to tune the car and the leftover will buy me an exhaust.

Ditto. I wanted them for the occasional track day. Big stoppers.

Hey, did ya get them on the 430? I did not but I didn't order my car either. Not sure I would have if I had ordered though since it's a cruiser that will see very little track

Default Didn't get them.

When I spec the car there were concerns about failure on the track and squeking on the street, and I heard the iron brakes are great, so I didn't get them. On my Vet I destroy a set of rotors one day at the track, so the ceramics could be too expensive.

That was early ones. I've not heard problems with the new ones. They don't squeek. Track durability was the point.

Destroy rotors in a day??? That's impressive, not sure what it says but it is impressive.

I'm leaning towards getting them. I plan to track the car. Vincy, I've heard stories of amazing longevity from these breaks. If you're blowing through rotors in a day, it may very well be the reason you should go with ceramics (or at least a new brand of steelies).

Lack of dust doesn't suck either.

Yes,

Once you drive with ceramics brakes on and off the track (either car), you don't want anything else. They are so consistent and confidence inspiring. The cost issue may cause some to eschew them, but then people rationalize new versus used, Porsche versus Spec Miata, all the time, so to each his own. For me, given the value received (see above) they are worth the extra cost, and if you're not in the habit of overheating and/or abusing (race car speeds on the track) your brakes then the chance of problems are pretty remote, though all things mechanical can have failures.

Too fragile and expensive IMO. For track use I might consider upgrading to the Brembo GT3RSR package, durable and race proven. But the big reds are good enough for me.

Remember the big reds are bigger and better than ever before on the '7.

I went for them for the weight savings and improved handling,--not to mention long years of service life. The newest generation have inspired confidence in their engineering.

Got them and already had some recall done to replace pads and calipers.
After having them on the GT2, I love them. I didnt spec my car, but the one of the main reasons I bought this one and not another 997TT was because of the PCCB's.

Tied at 14 so far. I would have guessed about 2:1 against. Do you think this is indicative of the general TT population, or are the users here more likely to track and more of an "enthusiast"?
