Engine out service costs.

I did this for a friend of mine. He elected to do a lot more while the engine is out, including conversion from Tipt to 6-speed so the engine is still sitting out. We pinned the cam shafts and one had already spun and had to be sent away to be redone. In addition, there were a bunch of hoses, chain guides, solenoids, and intercooler hoses to be replaced that ... you really cannot ever do this in 2 weekends. I did not charge him anything but I would say $15K is a fair price for this kind of work. A turbo is a huge step up in labor involved than a 997S.
He had to buy the cam timing tool set up, high quality floor jacks, and bottle jacks to supplement his 4 post lift before I even agreed to help him. I told him I do not want to die under the car supported by Harbor Freight jacks and jack stands.
