Clutch hard to engage
Haven’t driven for a couple months , clutch was easy to engage on the initial startup and gear selection then became hard to engage for about 5 miles of driving after that became normal again. What was I experiencing?

Clutch master, slave or accumulator are the first things that come to mind. Pay attention to any leaks under drivers side front fender. Also check clutch fluid level (Pentosin) under the bonnet on the drivers side - I don't recall if you need to remove plastic trim or not:.https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...luid-leak.html

The accumulator bladder has failed. This will cause the heavy pedal on the hydraulically assisted clutch.
You will need to pull the front plastic panel to inspect the Pentosin fluid level in clutch slave reservoir. Check and see if the fluid is overflowing> that points to a failing slave cylinder.

A quick test: with the car cold, engine NOT running and rested overnight, count the number of pumps of the clutch before it gets hard. If you get 7 or more the accumulator isn't "likely to be the cause". If you get 12 -15 it's like new, so recheck other locations including pw steering pump. If ithe clutch pumps less than 7 times the accumulator could be the issue.
if you have records and it hasn't need replaced in the last 30k miles or 10 yrs, the accumulator is the likely culprit, a common repair on older 997tt.
