997.1 Turbo for sale (had to share)

Tell me about it. I bought one today. Got a new stainless steel Rolex Daytona for $7350 15 years ago, traded it for a 12 year old white gold meteorite dial Daytona 9 mos ago, it ended up being way too heavy, traded it back to them for a white dial stainless steel 10 year old Daytona for $2500 more than I sold the 15 year old watch to them 9 mos ago. Such is life. I didn't like the new ceramic dial ones and can't find any for sale anyway for MSRP.

I'm wearing a Polar M600 because my Dweller never reminded me to get off my butt and walk around.

I haven't tried to buy because I know I won't get anywhere. BLNR's that were $8k on the gray market are $15k. Daytonas that were $10k are $15k, for the last gen. If you want a new Daytona, expect to pay $20-25k for a $12k MSRP watch. Pepsi's that retail for $9k are going for $18k. It is ridiculous. Only a matter of time before they all come back down to reality, these prices don't last forever, just like 911R's don't sell for $500k forever.
I had a "hulk" paid 8300 at an AD. I just dumped it for 12K used. I couldnt pass up making money on it.
Im in the market for something else just hard to find what I want. I refuse to pay the prices they want on the grey market

Ha...I am looking at my SeaDweller the same way, but I think this market has a bit more room to run. Rolex is just NOT providing units outside of the initial allotments that get gobbled up by "collectors" and clients who buy them simply to flip. I have been waiting for the Daytona to drop since 2017 and all it has done is run up another $8k.

The bubble will pop at some point but selling my hulk will get me into something with gold/rose gold for much less.
Also I refuse to have more then one watch at a time(no pun intended) not that I dont want too I just have to not get out of hand. lol
Its also about the hunt for me so I love it

You might message this seller: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ight-mods.html and see what he got for it. Listed for $80k (or $70k with mods removed) and sold pretty fast.
My car is spookily similar to his and yours so I'd be interested to know, too. (He didn't respond to my PM after it sold, but he may have not even have read it thinking I was just a tire kicker wasting his time.)

If I did sell, it would be this fall/winter around 85k miles since I plan on taking some longer trips. I still have my Fidelity platinum care until 12/30/2020 or 103k miles so I may just ride it out till then, and then sell it at a discount haha. But by then, maybe there will be a Turbo bubble and the 997.1 will become the new 993?!?

A good source is telling me that the Daytona is being predominantly being purchased by “chicks”. I ain’t buying a girls watch. Sticking with 44mm size watches. Passing on the 40-41 mm “chick” watches.

$21-25k for a watch that’s probably not worth it? $12500 kinda nice to have one. Anything north is just a waste of money and a huge gamble when the bubble pops. Just like the new C8, ain’t getting on anyone’s fake list. Like Boz Skaggs says,”Put your money on the table and drive it off the lot”.
