Source for WSP 5040 Spray
Hi all,
I am having trouble finding a source for WSP5040 in Spray form. It is a lubricant called out in one of the Porsche service procedures for the ball linkages on the Turbos. I will be under the car soon and would like to lubricate the linkages. .
I find the product listed online through Fuchs but cant find an actual site that will take my money and send me the product. One site looked promising but USA was not a shipping destination.
My dealer does not show it listed and I'm not looking for a substitute quite yet.
Thanks
Bill

I got a can of it (spray form) through my local Porsche dealership (Fresno, CA) within the past year. It was very expensive- as I recall, around $100 for the can of it! I wasn't comfortable using an alternative since the factory product is tolerant of very high heat.
If you were closer, I'd be happy to let you use as much as you needed from me. I used small sprays on each of the ball linkages on the turbo's. The (very expensive) can is essentially still 100% full and unused.
I would be surprised if you couldn't get your dealer to order a can for you like mine did- I'll bet they just can't find the proper part number.

PS..I see this morning after re-reading the 'Greasing ball joints on adjustment mechanism' procedure WM 2130N0 that next to the WSP5040 designation is the P/N you reference. I completely missed it several times ….. I hate getting old
Thanks again

And more information....Just called the local Porsche dealer and they will order it for me. $149 for the 400ml spray can. I was in shock and said no I will look for another source. Then the price came down to $70 + tax which is 10% here. I said ok.... wow.

No surprised about the spray can, I would think its an ORM-D, just would have to use ground transport.. I think I got some fluids from them before that were ORM-D, just took a little longer for shipping..
