How weight helps in a corner and braking:

coefficient of friction remains unchanged. Because it only depends on the nature of the two surfaces, not on the weight. If the weight is doubled then the frictional force will be doubled.

frictional force (F) = coefficient of friction * the weight of the body

yup same here in my 981 Spyder which I bought after having sold a tuned, track suspension modded 996 TT. Spyder not quite as fast in a straight line, but in the twisties, my oh my. :-)
