New for me: 2011 997.2TT with MT
I used to have a 2009 911 C4S for over 1.5 years. The C4S was also the first car that I owned having an automatic transmission; albeit, it had the amazing PDK.Knowing I would not be satisfied without having a row-our-own transmission, I started my search. It had to be an all-wheel drive coupe with a manual transmission (MT) and had to be better than my car. I tried the new 991s but it was a bit too luxurious and refined for me, and I wanted a bit more raw feeling to feel the road and bumps; however, the 997s had a lot of get-up-and-go. I narrowed my search to 997.2TT MT coupes; after opting out of the 997.1TT MT with the Mezger engine mainly because I wanted the newer PCM.There were not many vehicles that fit my requirements; in fact, only one.
I bought one sight unseen on the internet, although I saw many pictures and videos and asked a lot of questions. I had it deliver to the local Porsche dealer and waited with baited breath on the inspection.Luckily, there were no issues. My service guy said that I gotten a “good one".
Even thought the 997.2TT is a lot more powerful than my 997.2 C4S, I was taken by surprised, actually shocked, on how docile the 997.2TT sounded compared to my 997.2 C4S with PSE, especially at start-up. If I was a bit more informed or have had read this forum, I would not have been surprised.Currently the 997.2 is having a Sharkwerks exhaust installed to address the sound issue. In addition, I have ordered the Adaptec 7mm and 15mm hub-centric wheel spacers for the front and back, along with titanium wheel bolts from World Motorsports. Afterwards, a paint correction, clear bra, and a special sealant.
It is my hope that this will be my forever car. My last forever car was a 1970 Mercedes 280 SL which I bought in 1979 and have since given to my son about a year ago. This 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo with manual transmission will bring a great smile to me; whether I is driven or not, but I plan to drive it.
I have been reading the Rennlist articles to get more informed/educated/ knowledgeable. I look forward to being part of this forum and the Porsche family.

Pictures? Congrats on the acquisition!
You could have bought a 2009 with Mezger and updated interior with ".2" PCM.
I went for the 997.2TT 6 spd as well for the upgrades which were an improvement in my mind plus new enough to get some CPO on it. Now that that has expired maybe it's time to put on the used Europipe I've acquired to get rid of the docile sound you note!

The pictures certainly support that you got a "good one." That 3/4 interior shot looks like it could have come from a Porsche marketing brochure. A nice .2 6mt Turbo coupe is a real keeper.

I had the Sharkwerks exhaust installed while retaining the original cats and original exhaust tips. It sounds better without being overly aggressive...no more vacuum cleaner sound. At startup,it is still not as loud as my former 2009 Porsche C4S with PSE, but that is ok.
