Default Does the Turbo feel heavy

Hey all,
Just curious...

When driving the 997 Turbo Cabriolet, does it have a heavy "feel" to it? I've driven a few 2wd and 4wd coupes, and a non-turbo cab, and they all seem OK, but I was thinking the Turbo Cab might have a heavy feel to it since it is about 400 pounds heavier than a C2S. Maybe you don't notice?

I came from a C2S 993. First thing I noticed was heavy. Then I did a few on ramp boost checks, and heavy went away.

I came from a 2002 C2 cab and now have a 997.1 TT cab. The new car feels a bit heavier but the suspension is very composed and feels waaay more sure footed. This is great because of the huge increase in power.

Here is is a good article about the cabriolet and why this reviewer preferred it over the coupe.

Heavy in a good way. Very planted, solid, smooth power delivery. Very stable.

Much more rooted than my C2S.

Heavier than my C2 Cab but my 997.2TT handles better in all settings (sport, sport plus) and besides the obvious performance in handling it is a fantastic touring car. I've taken mine on several 1k mile plus trips and for me the additional few hundred pounds actually seems to provide a smoother overall road experience. Couple that with the power and you've got some great time behind the wheel.

Yes. Compared to my Cayman S, it is like a bulldozer.

Turbo is heavy comparatively. It carries the weight well probably because it’s got substantially more horsepower and torque than most of the lighter cars it gets compared to.

Ive owned base carreras and c4s and what you feel is not the 997 TT being heavy. I thought about that too but its not heavy. It will pull away from a regular carrera, even my GTS. And mine is a AWD.

A nearer example is my 997.2 TTS vs a 997.2 GTS4. Both are AWD and same 9A1. It seems the GTS has a much looser rear than the TT.

Drive a regular carrera to a GTS/4. Then drive a TT. You will feel it that maybe it is lighter, but the TT will blow them in the stop light.

Why do you feel it maybe lighter, because the TT is build might more tighter. You can hear gravel hitting the wheels and under panel on a carrera but you will not hear it on a TT.

Mine is much lighter than my previous vehicle. It was however a Hummer H1. Mine just feels very planted top up or down.

I have an S2000 with Billstein PSS9 suspension and awesome tires... initially the Turbo felt heavier but then I realized how much more composed and confident it felt... so the extra weight feeling almost instantly disappeared.

I’m sure a race car driver or an avid autocrosser would rather drive the S2000 and maybe even beat the Turbo at Autocross, but for a regular enthusiasts who’s not an F1 driver the Turbo will allow you to feel more in control and confident and forget about the weight.

I'm thinking about getting an H1, I hated my H2 because it was way too slow and accelerating from a stop became a chore. Did you find that to be the case?

I changed out the seats to save some weight and car felt better to me. Maybe it was just in my head lol

stock couch seats VS Sparco SPX - big difference...
