I've seen the 488 number a lot and always thought that was coupes. If coupes are only 296, it bodes even better for their values in the future.

Porsche collector magazine wrote about where the porsche market is going. The .1 TT was not mentioned, not even the 09.

They dont know where you need to put your money now in the 997 turbo, but they think either 7.2 TT MT and the 997 TTS.

The 7.2TT MT being it was produced in limited numbers due to the recession, and the TTS being that it was limited to 2000 production run(I believe) the whole market(US and the rest). And the TTS is being praised for having the PDK. The 70 most important porsche was named for its 70th anniversary, the TT PDK is there.

I think Ive read with Total911, they mentioned it would be between the 997.1 mk1 09 vs the 997.2 MT.

The verdict is not yet out.

If only they could have predicted that the 993TTS would be a half a million car, nobody would have sold theirs.

Same thing I read but they might be trying to sway the market.

So, I should hold on to my 997.2 TTS?

I should have bought one of the 997.2 6MT's I saw last year when I was first looking! Grrr!

But, love my TTS

I love that idea. There's a set of 991.2 TTS wheels (20") for sale. Looks like the specs might work on a 997.2.
How cool would that look.

I stuck to OEM Wheels. Had my share of aftermarket wheels. The OEM Spyder Wheels just feel and look the best. Make sure the offsets are correct. I even have the all black CL lock. Now I wear black wheels with silver CL. Next will be silver(your color) but with black CL’s.

Having owned a 997 TT PDK and a now a TTS, the $10k mark up is worth it. You really need to experience that 9A1 engine on a PDK. You can do 2.8 sec 0-60 all day long on a street car.

If you fancy the 997 body like I do, the TTS is the car to own and keep. Everybody can enjoy it and drive.

Both the 997.2 Turbo and Turbo S have the 9A1 so there's no distinction there. Personally having owned a 991 Turbo S and now a 997 Turbo 6mt, the additional power is not noticeable or a worthwhile consideration imo. So I'd say it comes down to an example you can find that has the colors and options you prefer, S or non-S, and not to let the S badge be a deciding factor.

I know both has 9A1 engine, but for the 10k difference, what are you getting. PCCB, PTV, Dynamic engine mounts, center locks, even the grill I notice is different. The left and right bumper grill on mine is like CF while my old TT PDK is plain plastic. Most of these has to be an added option for the base turbo.

The 2011 Turbo and Turbo S has a different bore/stroke than a 2010 Turbo. Different crankshaft and connecting rods.

Can you post a link for this as I'd like to learn more about it as I wasn't aware they made any changes to internals between 2010-13? Thanks

Personally for me it came down to wanting a manual so S was out of the question but with the manual .2, you're talking a $10k+ premium over the S if you can find one, especially one that is not black on black.

Ill find the link. Ive read that when I was trying to buy my turbo S and I remember Champion motorsports confirmed the difference from a 2010 and 2011 Turbo.
