Default 997 Turbo With speedtech exhaust and Softronic Tune.

Thought I would post the almost finished product of my dads car here. I made some posts about exhaust and a tune before, but in the end my dad went with a Softronic Tune and Speedtech 3.0 inch exhaust with 200 cell cats. The car is almost complete aside for getting some HRE wheels, tires and possibly some carbon fiber parts.

I have never experienced any other porsche tunes before, but I must say the car is really night and day after the tune. The Turbo lag or spool up time is considerably less and the pull and sheer acceleration when the Turbos kick in is absolutely crazy and scary.

As for the exhaust, well it sounds amazing. At idle the car has a nice sound to it, and when accelerating to/at low speeds around 20-40 mph is sounds simply amazing. It sounds very exoticy, if that is a word, kinda like a porsche GT3. It is very loud also. You dont even have to accelerate fast or be at high speeds to enjoy it. The sound its produces when accelerating and traveling below 40 mph is amazing and very very good sounding. We drove it on my college campus and people everywhere we went where turning to look at the car, but not because its obnoxious, but because it really sounds like a race car or something exotic like a ferrari or lambo. (not that porsche isnt exotic )

When you are foot to the floor it is a whole different story. My dad used to have a granturismo S a couple years back, which is generally a loud car. But this porsche just blows it out of the water. When your accelerating foot to the floor the car is LOUD. Like really really ****ing loud. You can probably here the noise from well over 300-500 feet away. It sounds like a full blown race car.

I have some videos recorded from today when we drove it. My phone really doesnt do it justice of how freaking loud and good sounding it is, but it gives you an idea.

Here are some videos I took.

Nice car. I went with Softronic tune years ago and also 911 tuning exhaust with 100 cell cats. No lights, no issues. It seems to be a good safe tune. Not sure it extracts every last ounce of available hp but its been safe an runs strong.

You guys are lucky. The best we get here in Washington state is 92 and a lot of the time it's barely up to that level. 93 octane allows a much stronger tune.

I have the same car and same tune. Had to upgrade the clutch after 500 miles.

Have you done anything with the clutch?

Is yours an automatic? My dad's car is Tiptronic automatic. He has not done anything to the clutch. I was under the impression that the Tiptronic transmission can handle loads close to 700 horsepower, without replacing the clutch.

It's truly amazing what a tune and exhaust does for these cars. Well over 500 horsepower and almost 600 ft pounds of torque and I love the Tiptronic in mine and have never had a problem with it handling the power

Missouri here, here is another video of the car at a cold start. I think it shows what it sounds like better than my other videos.

Yesterday my wife was inside the house when I started the car in the garage(cold start) - she said our cat was eating and when the car started it scared the #$#$ out of the cat and she ran away - that's how loud the cold start is...

Yea, cold start sounds fantastic and sets a great mood prior to a drive. It really quiets down after the 1st minute when the air pump shuts off, but as soon as the RPM's get over 4000, at WOT, it wails beautifully. Then part throttle, IMO, is just a nice tuned sound. I love this system, it is one of our best sounding ever....
