10 RS

This car has been discussed already here before. Go to the RS for sale topic.
But as far as I remember, car doesnt have the CF wing, did not pass smog test, was tracked and was dirty as it sits.
Nothing that $$$ cant fix. Throw in $20k or less, and those can all be erased from memory.

Ending noise means either cam bolt backing out, strechted rid, spun bearing, anything really. Will cost you 10k just to find out what the noise is. rebuilds are $30k, new motors $60k
Wimg is $12k, uprights $2k
Pics at DMV and Smog shop priceless.

This car would be a good project to those who are mechanically inclined.
Lets say it needs a rebuild.
If you ask GMG to do it, then it would be a 60k build.
But if you have a best friend who knows how to rebuild engines, then 20k is fine.
You just have to find the parts for it. Its not that hard. You can fix anything mechanical. In fact, the best cars Ive owned where once cars their owners just cannot afford to fix. But doing a PPI, looking at who will fix it and where to get it, will tell me if its a deal or not.
The thing that I dont like are repaints or accidents, just because even with the best body shop you cannot reproduce factory paint.
But, again, this is not a project for the faint of heart.

Wondering how many of those huge drink cups have popped out of the holders while going around corners. Better check rust and corrosion below carpet.
This car will not be sold in CA, at least not with a normal title. Title transfer and registration is not allowed for a vehicle that will not pass smog.
Had an 86 corvette that wouldn't pass smog, so I had the engine rebuilt. Waste of money. Most engine rebuilders in CA treat corvette engines as normal GM small block 350. They have different head/intake angles, not to mention bastardized emission equipment. Still wouldn't pass smog. The DMV told me to take it out of state or junk it. Ended up getting $250 for a no accident corvette at a junk yard and they were hesitant about giving me that much. Try finding a junk yard to take a vehicle that's over 10 years old. All fiberglass panels were in perfect condition except paint damage and a bit of heat warpage on the plastic bumpers from sitting outside. That was over 10 years ago. DMV requirements are much worse today.

But even with 133, I am not sure this would be a good buy. Whats the benefit of all those headaches. Time is whats expensive here.
I just dont know how much to ask the seller until you do a thorough PPI. I will bring the mechanic that will do the fixing if I am interested with this car.

I would love to take on the challenge of rescuing that poor car and fixing it up proper. I hate to see an RS in that way. Shame...
