Advice on Selling
Hi Guys,
Apologies as this isn't GT3 specific, but I was much more active on this part of the forums then the others. I have a 987 Spyder I'm looking to sell. I usually use shift just to save the hassle of selling cars myself even though I'll get less on the sale. For my spyder though they're saying it's worth 53k (even though it's got Carbon seats and <20k miles).
Which leads to my question, can you guys recommend a consignment or dealer you've had success with? I'm less worried about getting the best possible deal, but I don't think Shift deals with these types of cars enough (or maybe I'm too optimistic on the impact of the carbon seats on valuation).
Any advice much appreciated. Thanks!!!

no recs in norcal for consignment.
those spyders are cool cars. i guess for a 987 that doesn't seem horribly off, of course dealer is going to be low though... remember the 981 are out now

Thanks for the tips.
As requested here's a few pics (better ones are from prior seller, bad ones are from my garage). Sorry I need newer/better pics, but the weather has been atrocious.

Assume you are not a PCA member otherwise Panorama could help your car get lots of looks from Porsche owners...ditto the RL membership suggestion.
Ive had good success on Autotrader and Cargurus with some Porsches and an '08 Mustang Bullitt edition, if you are willing and able to show the car to prospective buyers coming to your home, etc.
Good luck.

I would think you are in the $60k range.
If you decide to go with that $53k offer, you can really stick it to them by swapping your carbon buckets for my regular sport seats. I'll even pay shipping!

A good consignment dealer will take 8%. Your car will be hard to sell until Spring or Summer. Last year several 987 Spyders were listed on Renns and sat a while. I think if you get around $55K net you should be satisfied.
A good consignment dealer is SF Sports Cars in Burlingame. I have sold several cars through them. Very professional, and they have good contacts, but the commission is high.
