They actually are despite the beautiful look of them... My only regret is changing the wheels and not going 5 bolt.

Other than that amazing car!

almost opted for a quick drive up to Alice's for some fresh air and breakfast. may escape early afternoon to head up there.

and yea, your exhaust would surely get you some extra attention. along with that ridiculous ricer wing!
haha - i actually reverted back to the stock exhaust with bypass...ricer wing is still on.

I'm actually going to head there in my Harley late afternoon for a late lunch

so after extensive testing on hwy 9, Skyline and hwy 84, i've concluded that the 997.2 GT3 can keep up with and usually pass a Prius, BMW 328, Mustang GT and large dump trucks.

may wait to see how it performs at Coffee & Cars before making a final decision. does anyone make a Lambo door kit for the GT3???

Ahaha - but didn't you also barely get ahead of the guy in the Ferrari in the corners up there? Surely that also leads to a conclusion that both your skills and the cars capabilities drastically exceed that of all Ferrari owners?

no Ferrari guys to be seen today. i think they have all been scared away from driving on the twisties due to water run off and pollen.

now can only be found at Santana Row in front of the Valencia hotel. the faster guys may make a showing at Canepa too.

Feeling your pain in SoCal. Passing a Prius does present challenges. We discovered the big booty has trouble keeping up with the Kardashians.

ba dum bump

Just crossed 14K. I guess my RS is no longer investment grade.

After years of daily flogging my old, depreciating, unpure, dreaded, boring, slow, ugly 997.2 GT3 back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, on a humdrum, curvy, fast, empty unpatrolled highway filled with tunnels which heavily echo that nuisancely noisy, overpriced stage-6 cargraphic exhaust, I finally found the inner peace I longed for, when I recently discovered an actual USE for the old tin can; hauling artwork !

[QUOTE=boostedt0y;13200425]997.2 are definitely slow and ugly. Anyone want mine?

Yeah, slow and ugly, and their mothers dress them funny.

And mine is so slow and ugly they won't even allow it on the street.

I had to read this thread in its entirety. I just picked up my .2 GT3 and thought maybe I had made a mistake by not getting a GT4. I have a track only .2 Cayman that I thrash, so this is currently just a fun car for me. Glad to see all you guys really do like yours.

nice day today - might head that way myself.

and yes all GT3s are awesome 996 to the current 991.
Silencing a gt3 exhaust: Heresy! Blasphemy! Sacrilege!

I have the flap-control-thingy on 2 of my bypasses. One stopped working and I decided it was silly to drive that car quietly anyway. So it just sits back there broken until I remember to yank it out one day. If I want to be quiet I drive a boring car.

Mine is especially hideous in what my wife refers to as smurf blue.

from what i've read on the forum...
it's not as pure as a 996 GT3
it's not as pretty or fast rev'ing as a 997.1 GT3
it's not as cool / special / as good of an investment as a RS
it's only slightly faster (maybe?) than a GT4 if both are driven by pro drivers on the same day with the same tires (and at the same speed?)

i guess all it's about good for is...
being my favorite of the cars i've owned / driven (but only because I haven't owned / driven the other cars mentioned)
driving on the backroads of NorCal to enjoy the scenery
putting a smile on my face 4.3sec faster than my RS4 (i think with the right mods, i may be able to get that up to 5.6sec faster)

hmm, that works for me. time to go drive my ugly, high mileage, money losing, slow 997.2 GT3!

I feel it's important to help your fellow car enthusiast. Since I'm a very giving person and I drive very slow I don't need all the power of my GT4. Since you obviously are a great driver with skills being held back by that 997.2 heap I will propose an offer that you won't be able to refuse.

Let's do a straight swap for my investment grade appreciating GT4 for your depreciating .2.

The color blue is one of the worst colors on the GT3. In fact I don't get excited at all when I see the pics of your car. I definitely don't deserve my GT4. Please PM me so I can make you feel better.
