Default Random question. Any regrets not going GT3RS?

Although this is my first GT3 and i'm completely in love. I always wonder if paying double the amount of $ is worth getting the RS. does anyone regret not going to the GT3RS or vice versa?

I have never driven an .1RS but I absolutely love my .1 GT3. I wish I had a chance to drive both and see if I really had any regrets not going with an RS.

i would think its our GT3 ++ but the prices are nearly double and just looking at what the specs of the RS compared to ours, its not a huge difference? not sure.. really wanted to hear from others.

Well, my purchase was recent and that was $90,000 for a 17,500 mile car no accidents and high options list. The comparable RS in would be $150,000+ if it wasn't the rare colors.

Yes, regrets everyday. When I purchased I could have got an RS for for a little more pocket change. Not so anymore. Wish I would have stretched the budget a little.

^^^ exactly - i think it depends on timing, today it's not the same as it was say 3-4 years ago where an equiv 997.1 RS wasn't too much more than a standard 997.1-3, 20K or so. Now the delta is much larger.

997.1RS you get no sunroof (more headroom), light weight flywheel, big hips and euphoria of an RS.

997.2RS you get the above + dynamic engine mounts, carbon buckets standard.

No matter standard GT3 or RS 997.1 is 3.6 and 997.2 is 3.8

yea i could see if the amount was a little more. i guess im asking in todays market conditions

a very nice gt3 is averaging 90k or so and gt3rs.1 are going around 160-200s easily.

i also wonder if i bought my gt3 at the wrong time as they just announced the new 991 gt3 will have a manual but then again all porsches have a specific uniqueness about them .

Don't worry yourself about this. Dynamics are all but the same and for little coin can be made the same or higher than a standard RS. In standard form if blind folded it would be near impossible to tell the difference between a GT3 and RS of any iteration.

It only matters from an investors point of view or true RS nut who has to have one at any cost, an RS will always hold a delta over the GT3.

if you ever feel sorry for yourself in a GT3 of any vintage, just look in the mirror and remember that a lot of people are out there driving C class mercs and 328 bimmers. on lease.

I had a 7.2 non-RS and got the itch to get the RS and glad that I scratched that itch early on when prices were more reasonable.

Like others have said, probably not a whole lot of difference in terms of actual performance, but more in the owner's head and heart.

If you're the type who does a lot of "what if" like me, you'll probably never be satisfied with GT3 cause you'll always be asking this question. I knew I would always be wondering, so I just paid more for the RS, luckily when the price gap was not so huge. Even with today's pricing, I think it's worth it to get what you want within reason. Obviously would have loved a 4.0 but it was out of the realm of reason so no "what if's" there.
