Looking at a 20k mile 997.1 GT3 with a Sharkwerks 3.9 motor with approximately 15k miles on it. Having a hard time locating comp sales for this so was hoping to get some input from the experts. The car has a clean bill of health overall.
Looking forward to any input you are able to provide.
Thanks,
SGS

Usually you will not see these come up for sale. I would think atleast +$20k would be reasonable for a 3.9 sharkwerks package.

Market for a 997.1 GT3 with ~20k miles seems to be in the mid-90s. Does that seem right?

Sharkwerks car will be more expensive. Think I saw one for sale recently for $120-130k.

I'm weighing a SharkWerks 3.9 997.1 GT3 in the $115k range vs holding out for an RS (probably a 997.1 and probably much more money). Any opinions welcomed.....

I bought this:
https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...-9-ohlins.html
It was for sale for quite a while, and no one else seemed to value the upgrades at all at the time. If the car is for driving and not for investment, a 3.9 Sharkwerks GT3 is superior value to mostly anything else in my opinion. They are rarely up for sale, so I would recommend you grab it - I surely did. The engine is amazing.

as for rangers car, you get something even more extreme than the SW 3.9 but it's also an RS which adds value to it.
for me the SW3.9 adds value to the car, but it depends highly on the mileage. If it's a 5K original mile 997.1 asking 110K, i don't think it's now 130K b/c of the 3.9. but if it's a 50K mile, then yes adds the full 20K.

I think you have to be careful; I'm a *huge* SW fan, and their work is simply the best, world class and almost peerless.
But putting aside the fact that this is a SW 3.9, and the stellar reputation of SW,
my personal experience in selling modified cars, especially modified engines, there is little buyer appetite to pay a premium for any additional R&D modifications made to a car, quite the opposite
If I were in the market, while I would certainly appreciate the value of any modifications, not least SW, however I think you also have to consider what happens if and when you might come to sell such a car onwards.
At that point, as a seller, and one that has paid a premium for such modifications you will aspire to recouping any such premium from the next
potential buyer as the current seller does.
Therefore I would consider *very* carefully *any* premium you pay for such modifications over the equivalent "blue book" / market rate for a "stock" car
remember with an engine modification, its unlike pretty much any other modification in that its prohibitive to return the car to stock an sell any
components separately, such as seats, suspension, brakes etc ...
caveat emptor
