I'm really happy for you. I was fortunate enough to be able to pick up a 2011 RS back in Sept (white also !), and you are correct....the car is just remarkable. Unfortunately, I have had stored away since mid-November. . I can't wait for April. FWIW, we had about the same miles and paid about the same. Absolutely worth it.

What are you intending for the car ? Any plan to track at all ? I've got my schedule for the upcoming year close to locked down and have 36 days set so far (may need to add another couple... ).

Regardless of whether you track or not, please just drive the thing. ALOT. Someone had a thread about the value of these and 1 post said that they were driving because they wouldn't feel bad on their death bed that their kids wouldn't be able to sell for another $50K due to miles. Even better was someone else's response that said not driving was like having a supermodel girlfriend and not hitting it like a madman to save for her next boyfriend. I immediately went out and drove my car....

I'll definitely track it but it won't be a track car. That's what the GT4 is for. Also, I've got young kids so I don't have time to get to the track as much as I'd like.

I don't understand keeping these cars as museum pieces. Maybe it's because I have a few cars and not a few dozen... but that's why I didn't take to F-cars. I would put too many miles on them and lose my shirt on maintenance and resale.

Actually, one of the things that surprised me most with this car was the comfort. I could definitely see taking it on long road trips.

I'm actually going to take my RS for a coffee run thanks to this thread . I actually miss my car when I'm traveling for work... That's how much I love this car. Drive the **** out of it. Mine sits in the garage because I'm never home and always working.

I took the long way back to the bay area and hit CA-33 through Ojai. I have to say, I'm absolutely floored by this car.

I've been fortunate to drive a lot of different cars over the past several years and I can say without hesitation that this is the most alive car I've ever driven. I turn cars over fairly quickly but I think this is a long term keeper.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice on the purchase.

The car has 8500 miles.

The only thing I want to change in the short term is making the exhaust louder.

Can anyone comment on whether a center bypass (SW or GMG) will make things louder or just change the tone?
congrats on the car!

bypass sounds like a louder version of sport mode. if you plan on tracking your car you wont pass sound at sonoma. thill will be fine. laguna is a joke, as always!

This is "the Grail" car right here. What can possibly top this for a real car that can be driven around and enjoyed? Perfect color, seats, options. I'd rather have this car than a PP watch any day!

Congrats on your fantastic looking RS. Agree of the high demand and rarity, increasing appreciation at least for now. My friend bought a new 2015 GT3 (non RS) which is currently stock and when I drive behind him at some speed on public roads I am amazed of the stock sound, so I am sure yours is even better.
Enjoy.
ps There are many utube and company videos of the sounds of the different exhaust products, which might add to the RL comments.
