Default Track time @ Chuckwalla this weekend

UCStrojan, Me, a couple other rl spend the weekend out at chuckwalla with the pca SDR group. These guys run a great de. Tons of track time.

We ran clockwise which is my nemesis. Does not click. Did have the satisfaction of beating my last best time this direction but still way off pace running ccw. Goals!

There were a few 997 out there. I'm only one with 997rs. No 991rs. Couple 991gt, couple gt4, few 996,997.1,997.2'gt3

I'm getting tired of people asking why I track the car since the values have gone up (3x this weekend, random people too). The car is too damn much fun, that's why! Also, they don't break when they get wet, or when they hit 40k, 24 track days and counting this year. Proper maintenance (yes its $$,$$$) and she continues to run just perfect.

For those of you who haven't been to chuckwalla, it's a lot of fun. Very much a momentum track with many long double apex corners. The track is really wide with great runoff, so perfect for practicing getting that *** end hanging out and steering with your foot.

I'll post a video later of a slow lap :-)

Oh and usc showed a stock gt4 with an alignment and rear toe links is very fast.

And GT cars look better covered in rubber

Good times out there, pissed that my tires went and I couldn't break a 2 min lap time. Looking forward to Buttonwillow next weekend. And I'll bring the BBQ out for that event too.

We had great weather. When it gets windy the track can get dusty. Makes that drift practice more fun. Worst is when a dust devil hits you on the back straight at over 100mph

Thanks Lots of time on the table. :-) I am finall ok with the smartycam audio. Not great but not bad. Video on day 2 was a little grainy. We had cloud cover so not a lot of light. Day1 video looks much better.

Sorry I did not get over to say hello I was there for my first time out in a year and my new car for the first time. Wasted most of Sat. with a bad set of tires, then put the OEM tires on for Sunday starting to get the feel back but along way to go yet. I will make it a point to say hello at Buttonwillow.

Do you trailer out to Chuckwalla? I guess it's not THAT much further than BW

I trailer out to chuck and all tracks- keep boring miles off the car and maximize tire use.
The big issue with chuck is closest hotel is 45 mins away in indio. lots stay at the track.
star sports is on the chuckwalla website, it's their open track day, but it's run as 3x 20 minute sessions so a run every hour (plenty) and has real safety and corner workers.

Yeah, button willow is in 2 weeks.
