Default 911 R. Interesting GT3 alternative?

You guys see the news in the 911R? Lighter weight, 6speed, GF3 engine, no wing, smaller tires.

if i have a 918, go pray harder than maybe i will have a 991R.

i wouldnt hold my breath....

Could be just a way to move old parts and bodies like the Black Series program.

Think a basic C2S with manual trans and GTS power.

This car elicits interesting--almost polar--reactions. Some people love it. I just can't find a use for a car that's got less power and less grip for more dollars, its only USP being a stick shift.

But that's why PAG makes big dollars. It knows how to make cars that fit almost every niche. Say, a rainy Tuesday special that would probably appeal to somebody...

Just to add to the debate, because none of these are on my acquire list at the moment...The interesting 991 to me: wide body, rs motor, proper 6spd or maybe PDKS (traitor?), no rear wheel steer, cup car front and rear suspension components/geometry/BRAKES, RS wing, no funny fender aero things up front (i know, because race car and functional...), 18" wheels, stripped interior, 5 lug.

I wonder if this is a way for Porsche to amortize the cost of the GT3 engine over another model to help pay for the launch debacle. Parts-bin special that they pre-sell to their Gulf clients, charge more, build less, book the revenue.

911 GT3 "lite". If it has retro bits, look, feel, and sound - that would be interesting. But, skinny wheels and no aero - why? Is this a nostalgia car for people who no longer run on the track, but want to remember what it was like when they did??? And to call it a 911R, huh?

^ bingo
at some point, a variant is just an variant. when AP made first few special editions, it was valuable. now, they have several special editions per year. to the point that the non special edition is more special.

the first few amg
the first few m power
good stuff.
now, the name plate has no more meaning than Honda.

a power brand doesn't make 80 variants.
they work work work and put all they got into one, u like it, buy it. u don't like it, leave. when a brand starts to hedge, and trying out expand by including everyone, it is just a business, not a brand anymore.

rennsport reunion 20 would not feel the same

I got you covered.

This car is fictional, won't get built. I will buy you a root beer if I'm wrong.
