here's the thing - its goodness that Porsche *still* does this sort of car anymore, short of Ferrari I think they are about the only manufacturer left (ok Lotus, Maclaren and Aston Martin) that trouble themselves to build such cars at all...

long may they continue to do so ...

I'd like to think it was 120-140 all in because I'd be all over that. You can't build a car for that and based on basic understanding seems to have a lot of street components which will keep running costs lower compared to a gt3 cup.

But I'm with you, I think this is going to be hard to get and a substantial commitment to get one new.

They build this sort of car because they make money on it, plain and simple. So as long as that's the case they will continue.

Hey Moot! hows life?
You might even find the shipping (and don't forget our friends at the border who are going to want their share in taxes) a little light. Interesting tidbit, the previous race cars through 997 had a shipping quote from Kroll (pretty much the only company PMNA uses and yes its airfreight) that had been steady for years...when the 991 came around is was just a touch longer, long enough to have to upgrade to the next size plane, container whatever and ended up in the high teens just to get it here. Huge increase in shipping that surprised a lot of people.

Would you commit to a series to get one of these?

^ yes
the mooty series where we park and see who can polish their car the best.

I find these strange rules and commitments fascinating. reminds me of communist home u know.

usually I don't like others telling me how to spend my hard earned money. I'm got a wife bossing me around already. I don't need pmna to do that too. I'm sure they have no problem selling to others who like to be bound by rules and other such nonsense.

I think I'll buy a model T

+1000. Strange world we live in where people are fighting for the chance to spend $100k+ or even $200k+. Just more evidence the world has way too much liquidity floating around.
