Default RHD CGT buckets in an LHD car

I am a US expat living in Scotland and own a 7.1 GT3 Clubsport over here that has the cloth CGT buckets. Safe to say that I am now obsessed with these seats and want to bring them with me back to the US even if it means taking a bit of a hit when it comes time to sell the car.

Perhaps someone can clarify, but the local dealer has told me that the CGT buckets are somehow different from RHD to LHD cars. Is this actually the case?

I cannot figure out how anything could be different other than maybe the mounts.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

In other seats it may make a difference as the passenger seat has a weight sensor, hence the reason the right side is heavier but with the buckets there are no sensors or anything. So I doubt there will be any difference between the seats.

The fore and aft seat adjustment would be on the wrong sides? Just thinking out loud.

I have the 996 Club Sport Seats, bought them new from Suncoast, and they are universal until you mount the slider to it. I would imagine that at worse you would swap your sliders and it will be fine.

Nice Seats, work keeping IMO.

This is enough for me. Now to sell a GT3 comfort with a cage come the end of summer.

I am not 100%

But I don't think putting in the cgt seats in a USA car is so simple. Yes if you plan to have a track car and use those as buckets, but as a street car the USA cars have airbags in the seat an door. I am not sure those are present in your clubsport. I also think the clubsport has an extra brace in the door instead of an airbag or two. Check this before you go through the hassle expense.

I wanted the cgt seats bad but I worry too much about a insurance clusterF if God forbid something happened and they refused to pay for anything because of some mismatched stuff.

Insurance clusterF notwithstanding there aren't any issue with installing CGT seats in a U.S. car. They'll work just fine. Airbag sensors/warning lights can be deactivated and reprogrammed. Again insurance issues notwithstanding.

JC, no issues
I had CGT Perlon seats in my 07 GT3, no issues.
As noted, turn off airbag light
Otherwise no problems
And having had the CGT, GT2 and 991 LWB, the CGT (your) seats are the best.
Well worth whatever it takes to bring them to Texas.

Clubsport cars in RoW spec have additional cushion in the lower door card below armrest for side impact protection, in lieu of the additional airbag built into the ***/SPS (aka GT2 foldables).

Weight sensor of CGT bucket just plugs into the harness underneath seat all the same so no problem there. You need PIWIS reprogram to disable airbag as said.

Lastly the seat slider adjuster is same--they're all aligned on the side of the center tunnel.

Thanks Bill. Now to just figure out what seats to sell the car with. I assume that 996 GT3 seats would be a relatively simple installation.

installing the 996 GT3 clubsport seats is a total BREEZE!

on the matter of installing the CGT seats in a US car, I would carefully inspect the CGT seats in your car and satisfy yourself that they are either symmetrical
or that they can be swapped across sides.

Do the CGT seats have airbags and a passenger weight sensor? -if there is no electronics I *think* you are good to go all you will need are some new seat belt receptacles - or bring the ones you have.

Rgds

I *think* that is part of the slider and not the seat itself, so those could either be swapped or replaced.
