I was at a track day at Reno Fernley with a 6GT3 some years ago. I had a new set of NT01's waiting for me at a local tire shop and threw the old ones out as they were down to just barely being able to see the circumferential groves. A guy across from us had a C5 Corvette that used my rear size on his front, he blew a tire and went to the tire shop and had them put on my old rears that were in the garbage heap...he ran on them all weekend! There's lots left once the groves are gone as long as they wear evenly...

That's pretty much the difference of how my fronts and rears are right now. I guess I'll be happy if I can get 2-3 more track days on the rears.

Fwiw -2.3 to -2.4 is ideal camber for them on the rear.

Wouldn't drive them in the wet if there is standing water.
How much front camber do you run?

Here's what the rears look like after 4 more sessions, pretty close to nothing but the 2 big grooves left. Guessing 1-2 more days before they cord? Inside shoulder tread depth holes are shallower than outside but I think a few track sessions should even it out a bit.

Also a pic of the fronts with 13 sessions on them since new.

How many sessions before they cord on the rears? Can I make it through a 2 day COTA event on the rears?

can you still see the tread holes on the inner sides (where it's wearing?) If 2/32 probably. depending how hard you are. I found cota easy on tires.

Yes can see them, they aren't as deep as the outside shoulders but still visible. I'll be happy if I can get through this coming weekend (10 sessions) on them.

keep checking between sessions- spin the tyres so you look all round for tears or cord- you don't want a blow out!

-3.1 on my old springs, went to -3.2 on the new springs it's working the tires a little harder.

I'd be surprised if you cord them in 2 days but I don't know how abrasive COTA is. looks like you could use maybe 1-2 psi more in the rears...I found on an 11" wheel on my car the rears like 37 hot for best wear.

fronts look like you need a little more camber?

Thanks Andy. I'll try 37 hot, I think I was around 35-36 hot. Fronts may indeed need more camber but the wear looks somewhat equal side to side. The eccentric bolts are maxed out but the top mounts are in the OEM position not rotated into the cup position. I'll know later today when I bring it in for an alignment.

You should have 2 piece arms in the front??? not eccentric adjusters. Can add spacers or rotate the top mounts. 1mm of spacer is roughly .1 camber adjustment. Spacers add caster if you don't have adjustable caster pucks and add more than 5mm of shims it might cause rubbing on the fender lining.

Not sure if you're asking me but I'll be nosey and reply. I only ran that car there once and never really got a good lap with the right tire pressure and I found out after that my rear bar was set to full stiff by the previous owner which explains why my car was sliding all over the place *insert next excuse here*

But all that to say I ran 2:33 on my best lap which is pretty slow. I think there's a 2:30 in it which is kind of average for a 997.1 non RS from what I understand.
