Default 2010 RS to 2015 GTS

Last Dec I posted to say that I've jumped ship, so after an 07 GT3, 10 GT3 Cobalt blue & 10 GT3 RS my GTS is now home.

1st impressions, steering is reactive I like the feel back weight and thickness of the wheel, no comparison to the GT3 which isn’t a bad thing, far more street compliant, smooth gear changes – not granular like the RS, that said, it’s easier to put into reverse than 1st. I’ll have to change my driving style due to the longer length of each gear, going to take some time getting used to not grabbing for the hand brake. Engine note with the Sport button is good and nice rumble from throttle lift. Seats are comfortable.

1st set of pics picking the car up, trailered it to Chris Gilbert at the Aston Martin dealership for clear bra. Once done I drove the car to Houston West Side Porky for an improved alignment, then drove it home.

I like the concept of what you did with the GTS script on the tail. I've been thinking of doing that if/when I get my 991.2 GT3. (I think you could close the gap on the letters a bit, compared to how Porsche gave them to you, but that's nit picking).

I'm genuinely surprised anyone would get rid of a 997.2 RS for a 991.1 GTS...but I hope you're enjoying the ride and your car looks fantastic! I hope you basically got the new car for 'free' or made money on the deal though.

Well besides being able to make a nice little profit with prices these days, the 991 is such a usable car, and great track machine.

I had a 991 C4S(PDK though, did not like the tranny), and it was the perfect DD and DE car. It simply does everything exceptionally well, you can't compare the experience to the RS, but again, if the OP wants to use his Pcar more often and especially on the street, then I think the GTS is the way to go.

Good call on not getting a GTS with the CLs. Congrats on the new car.

My reasoning: our local track Texas World Speedway is closing in June so after that we only have MSR Houston which is awful or CoTA which is very expensive to hire and even more so nx yr. One of our club members is trying to build a new track in Brenham, called Bluebonnet, but lots of lawsuits being filed against it, it will be built but could be 2 - 3 years away. The roads inside Houston equate to a 3rd world despot nation which made the RS impossible to drive. That said, there is no reason in owning a track focused car sitting in my garage collecting dust, having a GTS is more street compliant and should do well on a track if one is built, I ordered it with PDCC. If I don't like it I can always buy another RS. And yes, I made a tidy profit, so the GTS cost me nothing, well sort of.

I hope my original comments weren't interpreted as being too critical...not my intent.

I'm glad you're enjoying your new GTS!

Looks good Hugh. So much better with just the GTS on the rear.

No "intent taken", just explaining why I sold the RS.

Thanks mate. Agreed, unless you've been in solitary confinement for the last 50 years the 911 has to be one of the most recognizable / iconic cars made. If you don't know what it is by now, crochet beckons while you use public transport.

I'm in a state of shock that you would part with the cobalt blue GT3 ... what is the world coming too?

Agreed, I was just as SHOCKED when my mistress told me she was pregnant, my wife filed for divorce after we received the bank foreclosure notice all in one day.
