You'll be fine at the Glen, just don't pay attention to the blue paint

Buttonwillow is my home track....it's not hard but it's definitely technical and not high speed. It's sorta like you have different cut outs of a track glued together. You have some sweepers, some elevation changes, a few slow speed turns, and you ride the berms a lot because it's less narrow than other tracks. That being said, they repaved the track so it's butter smooth and doesn't eat tires like it used to. It's a safe track with a lot of dirt run-off areas with only 2 walls to worry about (one being the hot pit wall). Come on out....I hear S2000 guys love the track.

Trakcar's video was shot in May 2014 and they repaved the track in July 2014. Notice how bumpy and beat up the track was, you had to soften up your dampers to deal with it. Now you can go full stiff on the settings.

My shifter in the S2000 has gotten really stiff and balky. I'm going to see if it's something that I should get fixed before I do a trackday. If there's space I'll follow-up to get signed in. Apologies in advance if I'm a rolling obstruction.

Track is a good 2+ seconds faster and the berms have been flattened out a bit so you can ride them a bit more. There's a PCA San Diego event at BW in mid Nov before Thanksgiving...put it on the calendar.

i see you drive, you will like the track. think of sonoma + thunderhill = BW.
not much elevation change. but lots of fun. at first you will get lost (well for me, i am still lost) BUT once you get the hang of it. you think LS is POS and TH is just lots of hills here than there. sonoma just too tight for any speed and kissing walls is not as fun as kissing lips.

just do it. and then you will do it every year. it's far. and this is the only time of the year where the temp is good AND you can do many days together if you like.

driver mtg 8am
track hot 9am
lunch 12-1
track cold 5pm
no run group, you drive when you want.
starter stand will be manned an will help waive you on at the right time to avoid upcoming fast traffic.
open passing with point by encouraged.
and let’s not race each other right into the apex please.
that’s for the weekend when PCA races.

you can dump trailer at the track on wed, as long as you leave the track before 6pm when the close.
there is no camping allowed on wed
pls do NOT plug into shore power with ur trailer.
if you need power to trailer, run your generators.

it will be pretty informal and relaxed.
we should have 15-18 cars only.

if you have any other question, pls email me

What? Who voted for 1CW? Let's get a vote at the driver's meeting. Or everyone else can do 1CW, I'll do 13CW.

Definitely a bummer. I'll be on SC2s so slow and sideways for me...never tracked in rain.
