Quick question, do all 997 GT3 and GT3 RS regardless of .1 and .2 use the same brake pads if they have steel rotors?

Not quite. Rear pad shape are same. Compound will be different for pccb
Front pads shape differ between .1 and .2 cars. If the .1 car has pccb, the shape is same as .2 cars. Non pccb .1 cars came with 350mm front rotors. All others have 380mm fronts.
Also if car has aftermarket rotors they may use an Oem pad shape or different pad shape (for example the annulus on pfc front rotors is different and require a specific pad shape)
My car is a .1 car, but it had pccb brakes converted to steel, so it uses same pad shape as all the .2 cars.
Basically there are 3 options for fronts:
997.1 cars with Oem steel 350mm fronts
997.1 cars with pccb & all .2 cars steel or pccb
Rotor maker specific sizes
Confused? :-)

So .2 RS front pads will not fit my .1 non RS assuming both cars use steel rotors?

I was asking you
.1 pccb cars and all .2 cars can use same pads.
Yours having the 350 mm rotors will call for different front pads though
I think this is what spyerx is saying too

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see how a pad that could work on a 350mm rotor could also work on a 380
I think this is a case of you needing somebody that's actually done this to chime in as opposed to people just passing on what they've heard on the internet(me) lol
any way you could get a pad out to see what's in it now?

I spoke to a technical guy at PFC and he said all 997 GT3's use the same pad part # regardless of .1 or .2 and RS or not. Suncoast Porsche shows a different part # for .1 and .2 stock pads.

Sent him a PM, will report back. Looks like there are two part numbers one for 60MM swept area one for 66MM, guessing that's for 350mm and 380mm rotors respectively.

Ok I could be wrong. Sorry. Will check pet later but if caliper shape and annulus is same it would use same pad.
The pfc 60 vs 66 is for their rotor vs Oem size rotor. For Oem you want 66mm.
