Usc will bring his rs for what he claims is its final outing. I doubt that. These cars are too much fun.
Watch the top supercup/tudor qualifiers in GT3s. There is a lot of misinformation at DEs about how to drive it.

Pretty interesting how he goes behind the curbing at 2 and 8-9. I can't tell but did he go behind the orange bump at 19? Probably not as it would destroy the bottom of the car but it almost looks like he did.

You also have to be wary of other people's videos because COTA changes the configuration of the yellow curbs, i.e., the potentially suspension damaging curbs. I drove at least one event there where they removed the yellow curbs through T3-T5, so I drove right over the middle of the red/white mini-curbs, which made that section a lot straighter.

I've also seen COTA remove / include a yellow curb at the last turn before the pit straight (T20?), and there were other corners also but I can't remember exactly which ones. In any event, just because you see someone cut over the red/white curbs in a video doesn't mean you'll be able to do the same depending on how the curbs are configured.

Paver - The orange hump at T19 apex is smaller and is a different shape. It has a more rectangular footprint, is narrow, follows the inside line and is not as tall. I know some E46 M3's that straddle it to really close on people coming into T20. I have not tried it, but it can be done.

Drew - T19 is the one before pit-in.

Right after the F1 race, there were some nasty gators in the astroturf at track out of T15 and T20. That astroturf sees lots of cars, but they kept me honest that weekend.

For the most part you can drive very similar lines and stay off the orange "stop-cutting-corners-bumps". Straddling them is obviously a big help, and usually safe because your chassis is unloaded and higher than you think on those sides). I did see the track configured for V8 supercars, and the bumps were about twice as tall as usual.

In particular, the line/cadence through 2-3, 5-6-7, 7-8-9, 13-14-15, 16-17-18 are key areas where time is hard to find if you think about the corners geometrically - without looking for the most grip or camber.
I still can't make 19 work the way I want, there is a ton of speed you can carry through there if you get it right.

All the DE's I've run there the orange curb at the apex is pretty far in. You'd have to have about half your car over the red/white striping before you'd hit the orange curb. I use a decent bit of rumble strip through the esses and also at T19.

The best way I found to drive T19 is to make sure you're not too far over to the left side after T18, make sure you are set up way to the right of the track and then turn in early and dive for some rumble strip at T19 and then get back on the gas.

We're just one day UPS ground shipping from COTA if you need Pagid pads delivered to the hotel or track.

Yes. Sub 2:30 is quick. The RS guys are 2:24-2:25. That video is TexasRS but not his best.

As a newb to COTA running NT01/RA1s, I'll shoot for a sub 2:30 lap.

I see that he kept his nannies on in that video. I'll be doing the same thing...

If we get three dry days and you study TexasRS video, you can get there. He was running R6's. The time is not made or lost on the back straight either, so forget that idea. It is lost everywhere else. Follow someone that knows the way. Many don't. Traffic can play a big role.

At the end of the day, there is just too much downside not to on that track. I am not going to let some stupid error in my driving wad up a $100K+ car. If I had a Miata, the track damage bill would be more than the car is worth. The worst I have had it kick in is when I tried to get on the gas too much between 6 and 7.

6.5 weeks to countdown.
