Very dependable car and I suspect most you will find will have less than 10k miles. So like any of the GT's, seek to understand the history of the car.
- Obviously, physical condition (look for paint work and make sure things work)
- Track/no track (tracked not a bad thing, just more to look out for)
- PPI and look at DME
- Ceramic brake life (if no track, should be no issues. if tracked, you will want to look closer)
- Mods (not necessarily a bad thing - just need to know what they are. flash can result in higher range over-revs)
- Check clutch. Good clutch for stock TQ but if chipped without clutch upgrade, it may slip
- LSD can be a weak point.
- All the normal Turbo inspections
PPI should reveal most (if any problems). For the record, my 08 has been in the shop 1 time since new (02 sensor replacement under warranted). My TT was the same - very reliable. I'm sure I have missed some things and other will chime in.
