Default Cup Holder Cover Thingy Broken

The cover that folds up to hide the cup holders has broken on my car….wont stay closed.

Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with this and what they did to fix it before I go to the stealership.

Thanks

I have a cover in the stock grey finish that you can have. I don't know that it will solve your problem though, it really depends on whats broken about it.

Thank you very much for the offer!

The cover is fine. It just wont stay closed...I believe its the latch located in the center (see pic)...just doesnt seem to be catching when you push it up.

Same thing happened with my 997.1 GT3. Just kept slamming it until it closed.
When it closed I never touched it again until I sold the car.

Lol ...so funny you say that cuz it finally closed for me yesterday after about 50 tries...and then I said to myself "I'll just never open it again".

Mine will close and stay closed except at the track when the car takes a good jar. then it'll pop open. Drives me nuts because I always feel compelled to shut it right away and bang! next lap it's right where it was again. Repeat for next 30 minutes.

Just embrace the situation and put your latte' in it. You may even drive faster without a latte' in your hand.

Oh wait, wrong forum..

Seriously though, use a little blue painters tape to ensure it stays closed. Easy peasy.

2 ~8mm? allen screws on either side, accessed from bottom when glove box open, remove those, pull out cup holders, put in a box. You can remove the whole unit and replace with the .2RS non-cup holder version too... plastic won't match tho in color. So far mine stays shut.
