Ordered a set of Michelin Cup from tire kingdom. They showed up today with production early 2011!!! I told them that they are way to old! What do guys think is acceptable? 1 year from production???

 

not ideal, but not bad either.
<2 years-old is my preference.

I would ask to return them unless you plan on burning through them within a year or so. They are almost 4 years old already.

That's true. Maybe I'm being picky! Just felt strange to pay for new tires that are actually pretty old!

 

I once got some Michelin's from Tire Rack that were two years old. Tire Rack assured me that two years was fine and that the tires are stored in an environment where they don't degrade much. The other thing is that these "specialty" tires are manufactured infrequently so you'll only get "new" tires if they happen to have done a recent production run.

Just talked to tire Kingdom and they found a set of fronts that are produced late 2013. Hope that the rears are somewhat fresh as well. They arrive from Texas today.
