Default 997.1 GT3 Ideal DD RPM Range

Just wondering for those of you having the MKI car what RPM range you keep the needle when daily driving (w/o traffic of course)...

Anything that makes the Mezger sing. Typically 4-7K and sport button on. These motors do NOT like to be lugged around so win-win.

Use the full RPM range, thats what its there for. Obviously taking safety and good judegment into account.

I think 6th gear going 80mph is a bit under 4K-RPM yah? In any case, that's what I'm doing.
I also think the gas mileage is a bit better if you keep it around 3500RPM-4000RPM.

With that said my C6-Z06 was the opposite and would be around 1800RPM at 80mph in 6th gear and would get excellent gas mileage on the freeway, around 25-28mpg.

I avoid spending much time hanging out in the 3500-4000 range. That is where the car gets a funky vibration for me (in the 3.6L 997.1 GT3) It smooths out above 4K so that is where I spend most of my time. Occasionally on longer trips will run it just below 3500 but rarely spend any time below 3000

So this is a bit different from the 3.8 engine. That engine of course does not like being lugged around either, but it tolerates lower RPMs.

Going to sell my 2010 GT3 and want to get a 07 or 08. I think those 997.1 GT3s are more fun after test driving one for a day. Both platforms are obviously amazing, I just think the 7.1 is more fun and edgy.

Can't wait to make her scream...
